Hectic schedule ahead for Dragons

Cwm Draig have a busy run ahead as there are four upcoming games in four days for the club:

April 7th: Juniors at home vs Welsh Wanderers

We host Welsh Wanderers in a junior league clash - a match which could prove to be a critical one at this early stage of the campaign. The junior squad will look to build momentum after a 15-10 home victory against Newport in our first league match of the season. This fixture always hotly-contested by both teams, especially with the local rivalry adding incentive to proceedings. A win against Welsh Wanderers on April 7th could give a real boost to the team and our title credentials. It is a big opportunity for this squad to make a major statement of intent in the league this season. Kick off will be at the same time as training therefore there shall not be a training session on that night.

April 9th: Seniors at Newport International Sports Village for Welsh Senior League vs Carmarthen and Swansea

The seniors' previous match was against Newport in the BWWPL, in which our under-strength side lost 22-8. We shall look to bounce back in the Welsh Senior League against our upcoming matches against Carmarthen and Swansea. Last time in the Welsh Senior League, we suffered a defeat to Welsh Wanderers but reacted positively to triumph against Newport. The senior squad will be looking to put out a stronger team this time around as we lock horns with Carmarthen and Swansea at Newport International Sports Village, kick-off at 2pm. Additionally, Cwm Draig will need to supply volunteers for the table for a few of the tournament's matches, starting from 1pm. We would appreciate anyone who will contribute towards this for us.

April 10th: Seniors at home vs Harlequins

Another fixture for the senior squad. We have experience of playing the Harlequins in previous BWWPL seasons – and we know they cannot be undermined. An experienced, cohesive and physical unit that will provide us with a stern test once again. We need to be at our best if we are to obtain a result from this clash. The two Welsh Senior League matches on the day before shall provide good preparation for our second BWWPL fixture of the season. Again, we shall look to make improvements from our home loss against Newport with a stronger team available. Kick off will be around 6pm.
