A collaboration has between established Cwm Draig and City of Newport to develop and compete as a combined Senior Men squad in the 2023 Bristol & West Water Polo League Division Two season.
The squad shall play under the collaborative name of Celtic Dragons with a combination of registered players from both clubs. Celtic Dragons' home fixtures shall be played at the Newport International Sport Village Swimming Pool.
This initiative has the intention and aim of enabling Cwm Draig and City of Newport to become more competitive in the league. The overall vision is to enhance and propel the development of our sport in Wales by creating a more viable pathway team for Division Two of the Bristol & West Water Polo League.
The collaboration does not include our Senior Women squad, who shall be competing in Bristol & West Water Polo League Women Division solely as Cwm Draig Senior Women and shall continue to host home matches at the Sobell Leisure Centre.
