Farewell, Kristóf!

Everybody at Cwm Draig Water Polo Club would like to express enormous gratitude to Kristóf and wish him the very best of luck for the future, as he moves back to his native Hungary.

Kristóf joined the Dragons in 2017 and brought his valuable knowledge and experience from playing in Hungary into the team, as well as his vast qualities and considerable desire. Kristóf quickly established himself as an integral member of the team and became an important part of the Senior Men, helping the squad earn their first ever piece of silverware with glory in the BWWPL President's Knock-Out Cup that year.

Following his demonstration of impressive game intelligence, commitment and leadership, Kristóf was assigned captaincy of the Senior Men squad from 2018 onwards. Kristóf was also involved when Cwm Draig combined with other Welsh clubs, forming the Valley Dragons to compete at the 2019 Lyme Splash Water Polo Sea Championships, in which we were tournament winners.

As well as being influential in the water, Kristóf took on additional responsibilities within Cwm Draig. In his role as a committee member, Kristóf developed and supported the implementation of online and digital content for the club. Furthermore, Kristóf got involved with coaching as an Assistant Coach and occasionally an Interim Head Coach for club fixtures. Outside of Cwm Draig, he assisted the coaching team of the Wales Water Polo National Development squads, in addition to becaming a referee for the Bristol and West Water Polo League and a table official for Inter Regional Water Polo Tournaments and the North Sea Cup.

His incredible devotion to the club and to the sport earned him recognition, winning a Sport RCT Volunteer of the Month Award and being nominated in the Swim Wales National Awards for Contribution to Water Polo.

Kristóf gave Cwm Draig dedicated and exceptional service whilst playing and working in the club background. He has proven to be a huge credit to us and the sport with his remarkable work ethic and endless passion. In the time we have had him, he has displayed the utmost pride as our Senior Men captain, our talisman, our leader and our inspiration.

The whole club thanks you for everything and wishes you all the very best for your future endeavours. We very much hope that we shall see you again soon.

Farewell, Kristóf!
