September 14th - 20th was the 2020 UK Coaching Week, when the sporting community showed its appreciation for the coaches who inspires, innovates and encourages us all to love sport and be the best we can be. During the week, Swim Wales made acknowledgements for the coaches in the aquatic sporting community, which included deserved recognition for our own Darryl Ward and Lloyd Rickards and their magnificent and dedicated efforts in their coaching roles for Cwm Draig Water Polo Club.
Medi 14eg - 20fed oedd Wythnos Hyfforddwyr y DU 2020, pan ddangosodd y gymuned chwaraeon ei gwerthfawrogiad o'r hyfforddwyr sy'n symbylu, arloesi ac annog ni i gyd i garu chwaraeon a bod y gorau y gallwn fod. Yn ystod yr wythnos, gwnaeth Nofio Cymru gydnabyddiaethau am yr hyfforddwyr yn y gymuned chwaraeon dyfrol, a oedd yn cynnwys clod haeddiannol i'n hyfforddwyr ein hunain; Darryl Ward a Lloyd Rickards a’u hymdrechion godidog ac ymroddedig yn eu rolau hyfforddi ar gyfer Clwb Polo Dŵr Cwm Draig.
Swim Wales paid tribute to Darryl and Lloyd, who both undertake a Wales national level coaching role of the Youth Boys Development Squad and Senior Women Development Squad respectively, with a piece submitted by Senior Men player Matthew Griffiths. The piece read: "Firstly, I cannot give enough appreciation and gratitude to my coach of almost 10 years, Darryl Ward. Since the very first session I participated in, Darryl has given me a substantial amount of desire, inspiration and support to compete in the sport. For me and many others, Darryl has presented the sport as inclusive, enticing, stimulating and to play a significant part of our lifestyle. Darryl has been a constant support to myself and the whole team with his incredible dedication and tireless provision of opportunities to train together and to get us to a standard where we all have progressed to a high competitive level. The selflessness and belief he has shown for the club and the athletes has enabled us all to holistically develop and thrive."
Talodd Nofio Cymru deyrnged i Darryl a Lloyd, sydd ill dau yn ymgymryd â rôl hyfforddi ar lefel genedlaethol Cymru o'r Carfan Datblygu Bechgyn Ieuenctid a Carfan Datblygu Menywod yn y drefn honno, gyda darn a gyflwynwyd gan chwaraewr yr Dynion, Matthew Griffiths. Darllenodd y darn: "Yn gyntaf, ni allaf roi digon o werthfawrogiad a diolch i'm hyfforddwr o bron 10 mlynedd, Darryl Ward. Ers y sesiwn gyntaf i mi gymryd rhan ynddi, mae Darryl wedi rhoi awydd, symbyliad a chefnogaeth cryn imi gystadlu yn y gamp. I mi a llawer eraill, mae Darryl wedi cyflwyno'r gamp fel un gynhwysol, deniadol, cynhyrfiol ac i chwarae rhan sylweddol o'n ffordd o fyw. Mae Darryl wedi bod yn gefnogaeth gyson i mi fy hun a’r tîm cyfan gyda’i ymroddiad ffenomenaidd a’i ddarpariaeth ddiflino o gyfleoedd i ymarfer gyda’n gilydd ac i'n cael ni at safon lle rydym i gyd wedi symud ymlaen i lefel gystadleuol uchel. Mae'r anhunanoldeb a'r gred y mae wedi'u dangos i'r clwb a'r athletwyr wedi ein galluogi ni i gyd i ddatblygu a ffynnu'n gyfannol."
"The second coach which deserves recognition is Lloyd Rickards. I was already an established Senior Men player when Lloyd joined the coaching team, but he has no doubt had a positive impact on the club. Lloyd has shown excellent commitment and willingness to take on various roles for Cwm Draig, one of which is to work alongside Darryl with coaching the Senior Men during training and matches. Myself and the rest of the squad flourished under Lloyd's guidance, achieving success in the Bristol & West Water Polo League Knockout / President's Cup and Lyme Splash Water Polo Sea Championships. Lloyd bestowed his magnificent understanding and knowledge of the game, excellent leadership and diligence to allow me and the whole squad to perform at our potential."
"Yr ail hyfforddwr sy'n haeddu cydnabyddiaeth yw Lloyd Rickards. Roeddwn eisoes yn chwaraewr Dynion sefydledig pan ymunodd Lloyd â'r tîm hyfforddi, ond nid oes amheuaeth ar y ffaith ei fod wedi cael effaith gadarnhaol ar y clwb. Mae Lloyd wedi dangos ymrwymiad a pharodrwydd rhagorol i ymgymryd â gwahanol rolau i Cwm Draig, ac un ohonynt yw i weithio ochr yn ochr â Darryl i hyfforddi'r Dynion yn ystod hyfforddiant a gemau. Rwyf wedi ffynnu ynghyd â gweddill y garfan o dan arweiniad Lloyd, gan cyflawni llwyddiant yn Cwpan Ddileu'r Llywydd y Cynghrair Polo Dŵr Bryste ac Gorllewin a Phencampwriaethau Môr Polo Dŵr Lyme Regis. Cyflwynodd Lloyd ei ddealltwriaeth a'i fedrusrwydd odidog o'r camp, ei arweinyddiaeth a'i ddiwydrwydd rhagorol i ganiatáu fi a'r garfan gyfan i berfformio at ein potensial."
"Two remarkable coaches; both have had a huge influence on giving me the encouragement, passion and inspiration to enjoy and play the sport at my optimum level."
"Dau hyfforddwr hynod; mae'r ddau wedi cael dylanwad enfawr ar roi'r anogaeth, yr angerdd a'r cymhelliad imi fwynhau a chwarae'r gamp ar fy lefel orau."
Two magnificent coaches.
We feel privileged for everything Darryl and Lloyd does for our club.
Dau hyfforddwr godidog.
Rydyn ni'n teimlo'n freintiedig am bopeth mae Darryl a Lloyd yn wneud i'n clwb.
